Types of outdoor lighting
Finding the perfect outdoor lighting system isn't always easy. There are a lot of great choices to consider. Here is a list of some of the types of outdoor lighting you may be able to install on your property.
Bollards & Posts – Usually the most common type of garden lights found on residential properties. These spike-like lights are ideal for areas where wall lights are not a viable lighting option. They create a subtle lighting effect for garden beds and pathways.
Downlights – Ceiling-based, these mounted lights concentrate their beams on areas directly below them. They are often used for security purposes to illuminate pathways.
Floodlights – Perfect for casting light over large amounts of space. These lights offer practiciality and can be attached to fences or walls to provide lighting to areas such as patios, pathways and more.
In-ground lights (Well lights) – These floor-installed lights work to illuminate decks, paths, trees, and bushes with minimal visibility from the light itself.
Spotlights – Similar to floodlights, these lights work to highlight key elements of your property. Although their overall depth is narrower, these lights still pack a punch which is why you will also find them accentuating water features such as ponds and waterfalls. They are great for providing an extra source of security.
String lights – A popular garden feature, these lights offer a modern, but still stylish, way to add a bit of fun and functionality to your property.
